SPECIFIC EQUIPMENT WE DON'T SERVICE
PORTABLE & COUNTERTOP APPLIANCES
As an on-site service provider, we specialize in built-in and installed major appliances. We do not service portable, countertop, or compact units due to practical considerations. These appliances are typically designed for easy replacement, and the combined cost of parts and professional labor may approach the price of a new unit.
We Do Not Service:
Kitchen:
- • Countertop/portable microwaves
- • Countertop/portable ovens
- • Countertop/compact dishwashers
- • Portable/countertop wine coolers
- • Portable/countertop ice makers
- • Portable refrigerators (mini-fridges)
- • Portable freezers
Laundry:
- • Compact portable washers
- • Compact portable dryers
Why? These units are typically designed for convenient replacement rather than long-term repair. The cost of parts and labor combined may be comparable to purchasing a new unit. For the best value, we recommend considering a replacement from retailers like Walmart, Costco, Home Depot, or Lowe's.
ULTRA-LUXURY EUROPEAN BRANDS
We do not service certain ultra-luxury European appliance brands because we don't have access to service data and parts supply for these models.
Brands We Do Not Service:
- • La Cornue - French luxury ranges and cooktops
Recommendation: Contact the manufacturer directly - they can provide assistance to locate their authorized representative in the USA who has access to the necessary technical resources and genuine parts inventory.
IMPORTED EXOTIC APPLIANCES
Here's a friendly heads-up for our customers who shop at specialty Korean, Chinese, or other Asian markets: Some appliances sold at these stores - particularly certain models of LG, Samsung,Daewoo, Hisense, Midea, and other popular Asian brands—are manufactured specifically for Asian markets and imported to the USA in small batches through independent distributors.
While these units may look similar to their US counterparts and often feature unique functions, including specialized kimchi refrigerators and standard refrigerators manufactured for Asian markets (often purchased from Asian market stores or specialty importers), they present a unique service challenge as they weren't designed for the US market, which means parts availability is extremely limited, and technical documentation is typically only available in the original language.
⚠️ Why We Can't Service These Units:
- • No parts availability through standard US distribution channels
- • Technical manuals and wiring diagrams only available in original language
- • Different model numbers and specifications than US-market versions
- • No manufacturer support for units not officially distributed in the USA
Before You Buy: If you're considering purchasing an appliance from a specialty market, ask the retailer if it's a US-market model or an import. US-market models will have full parts and service support. For imported units already purchased, we recommend contacting the store where you bought it - they may have connections to specialized technicians who work specifically with these imported models.
KNOWN MANUFACTURER DESIGN ISSUES
Some appliances have inherent design flaws that make repairs impractical, expensive, or likely to fail again. We avoid these repairs to protect both our reputation and your investment.
Samsung Refrigerators - Ice Maker in Fresh Food Compartment
The Issue: Samsung refrigerators with the ice maker located in the top left corner of the refrigerator compartment (not the freezer) have a widespread over-frosting problem. This design includes a separate evaporator inside the ice maker compartment, which consistently develops excessive frost buildup on nearly all units with this configuration.
Why We Don't Service This: This is a documented design flaw that resulted in a class-action lawsuit against Samsung. While Samsung offers repair kits and instructions, repairs are expensive (especially out of warranty) and the problem frequently returns. We don't want to waste your time and money on a repair that's likely to fail again, and we want to maintain our reputation for lasting repairs.
Important Note: This doesn't mean all Samsung refrigerators are problematic. Samsung makes quality appliances, and their reliability varies by model and year. Models with the ice maker located in the freezer compartment are generally much more reliable - it's specifically the refrigerator-mounted ice maker design that's over-engineered and problematic.
Our Recommendation: If you're experiencing this issue and your unit is under warranty, contact Samsung directly. If out of warranty, consider whether the cost of repair justifies the risk of recurrence, or if replacement might be more cost-effective long-term.
HVAC & CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEMS NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE
COMING SOONFor your heating, cooling, and ventilation needs, you'll want to work with a dedicated HVAC contractor who specializes in these systems:
Recommendation: Contact a licensed HVAC contractor in your area. They have the proper training, certifications, and equipment to handle heating and cooling systems safely and efficiently. We're exploring HVAC services for the future, but for now, a specialized contractor is your best bet.
HOME ELECTRICAL SERVICES NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE
COMING SOONWhile we specialize in appliance repair, electrical work requires licensed electricians with proper certifications. For your home electrical needs, you'll want to work with a qualified professional:
Recommendation: Contact a licensed electrician in your area. They have the proper training, certifications, and insurance to handle electrical work safely and up to code. We're exploring electrical services for the future, but for now, a specialized electrician is your best option.
PLUMBING & WATER SYSTEMS WE DON'T SERVICE
While we'd love to help with everything, plumbing and water systems are outside our wheelhouse. These require the expertise of a licensed plumber who can ensure everything is installed and repaired safely and up to code:
Recommendation: Please contact a licensed plumber in your area. They have the expertise and tools to handle water systems safely and in compliance with local codes.
OUTDOOR EQUIPMENT & MECHANICAL SYSTEMS WE DON'T SERVICE
Our expertise is in indoor kitchen and laundry appliances. Outdoor equipment and mechanical systems need specialized technicians who focus on those specific areas:
Recommendation: For lawn equipment, contact local mechanic shops or equipment rental centers. For HVAC systems, contact licensed HVAC contractors. For pool equipment, contact pool service specialists.
ELECTRONICS & ENTERTAINMENT WE DON'T SERVICE
We're appliance repair experts, not electronics technicians. TVs, audio equipment, computers, and other consumer electronics need specialized repair shops with different tools and expertise:
Recommendation: For electronics repair, please contact specialized electronics repair shops, computer repair services, or the manufacturer's authorized service centers.
SMALL APPLIANCES & EQUIPMENT WE DON'T SERVICE
We specialize in major appliances only. The following small appliances and equipment are outside our service scope:
For these items, please consult the manufacturer or consider replacement at major retailers.
OUR RECOMMENDATION
We focus on what we do best: professional, on-site repair of major built-in appliances at your location. For portable and countertop appliances, we recommend checking the manufacturer's warranty service first, considering a replacement at major retailers for the best long-term value, or contacting local TV/electronics repair shops that may specialize in smaller units. For luxury brands, authorized service centers can provide specialized expertise and genuine parts.
